Meet the Cast
Director .:. Rodger Smith Ph.D.

Rodger SmithPart: The Director

Backstory: After a long history in the entertainment industry of film, TV, and live theatre, this character gets a Ph.D. and begins a second career in academia. He creates a number of film and new media initiatives before being offered a position traveling and reporting on new developments in digital media. He accepts the position only to find out what they really wanted was someone to create a new institute working with all the colleges in the BSU galaxy. While he loves the cutting edge work, the students, and the outside partnerships it is his privilege to facilitate...he wonders what happened to the cushy job writing and traveling.

Motivation: To create educational and immersive programs that unite private and academic worlds to the benefit of students, faculty, and corporate partners. To engage the joy of work and contribution.

Production Coordinator .:. Brian Thompson

Brian ThompsonPart: Production Coordinator

Backstory: Brian is a T-COM grad that has traveled the country putting his knowledge of technology to the test. From shooting and editing video and creating DVD's all the way to large venue audio-visual set-ups with huge screens, projectors, sound systems and the like. Brian knows a little about a lot.

Motivation: Finding an effective and efficient way of getting the job done while exceeding the end-users expectations (brought to you by the letter "E").

Opening Line: Life is short -- love what you do and enjoy it all while you can.

Multimedia Specialist .:. Jessica Seaton

Jessica SeatonPart: Production Specialist

Backstory: Jessica is a Ball State graduate with a degree in Telecommunications - emphasis in Multimedia. She's helped design and create websites, kiosks, interactive-CDs, DVDs, email marketing, newsletters, posters, and a variety of other media.

Motivation: Finding ways to communicate exciting ideas and information to the intended audience in the most intuitive and engaging way possible, especially when using interactive media.

Administrative Coordinator .:. Krista Finley

Krista FinleyPart: Office Administrator

Backstory: Krista is a 2004 Ball State graduate with a degree in Telecommunications emphasis in
Business. She has recently come
back onto the scene of the Media
world and is very excited.

Motivation: Create ways to help the office run smoothly and make sure the business side is taken care of so the rest of the crew can focus on their tasks at hand.

Opening Line: Treat people how you would want to be treated.

Project Supervisor .:. Justin Jones

Part: Project Supervisor

Back-story:
Justin recently relocated back to the Midwest after working on feature films in New Mexico and Colorado.  He received his BFA in film & Television as a writer and director at the University of Colorado.  Justin has written and directed several of his own short films which where shown at various film festivals around the country.  His body of work showcases a writer/director who is versatile in his style from drama to suspense, and has rich characters that face challenging circumstances and over come the odds.  Justin’s strong background in story telling and on set experience lends practical knowledge to IDEE in its future productions.  

Motivation:
To engage Ball State students through immersive learning within IDEE on wide ranges of media platforms and redefine modern story telling through new media technology.
