EVENLY ODD WEBISODE SERIES
IDEE joined the College of Fine Arts, the Miller College of Business, as well as faculty members Betsy Pike, Michael Hanley, Rick DiGiallonardo and Doug Naffziger, to create a capstone immersion experience focused on developing a webisode series.
The script for this series was written by Ball State graduate Mo Hammond. Mo was the winner of a short screenplay contest sponsored by IDEE in the Fall of 2007 and aimed at drawing out Ball State’s most promising writers in the ongoing effort to cultivate and celebrate the student body’s best storytellers.
The project premiered in November of 2008 at www.evenlyodd.net.
Here are some student responses and reactions to the immersion experience for the Evenly Odd Project.
"I learned a great deal about webisodes and all the work that goes into making and marketing them. The process was much larger than I originally thought. I learned that communication plays a big role in bringing together a project of this size. I also learned that not everything goes as planned and that is fine, you just have to keep moving forward and adjust to changes."

"On a professional level this experience has taught me how to be accountable, how to communicate clearly and effectively with the people I work with, and how to work to realize the visions of multiple people. On a technical level I was exposed to elements of production, such as lighting and sound, that I’d never seen in action before. Finally, I learned about my passion for this industry and how lasting it is in spite of complications and hardships."
-Keeley Shoup
"From a professional level, I got experience in a field I am interested in turning into a career. Experience is the most valuable asset to me right now. On a technical level, I got to use and get introduced to a script writing software that I now cannot live without. On a personal level, I have gained such an amazing sense of accomplishment and developed amazing friendships through this program I could not attain anywhere else."
